We are currently seeking a professional and enthusiastic Legal Administrative Assistant to join our busy IP & Technology team with two Partners and their team in our Melbourne CBD office. The Melbourne IP & Technology practice focuses on intellectual property advice and protection (including trademark filings, prosecution and oppositions), intellectual property disputes and litigation, technology licensing and commercialisation, information technology contracts and privacy and data protection advice.
This role is a hybrid working role.
**Working with a professional team, the key responsibilities of this role include**:
- Trade mark electronic filings with IP Australia, IPONZ and WIPO
- IP database and deadline management
- Drafting and amending general correspondence and legal documents
- General office duties including file management and archiving and attending to client enquiries
- File opening, reporting, billing and debtor management using Aderant Expert
**To be successful in this position, you will ideally possess**:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a legal / IP firm administration role with intellectual property law experience
- Strong word processing (min 75 wpm) and Microsoft Word and Excel experience
- Legal billing experience
- Ability to work independently and liaise confidently with partners and fee earners
- Exceptional time management, attention to detail and prioritisation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and adept to working at a quick pace
- Availability to work overtime when required
- Mature and resilient approach
