**Position Overview**
**The Workshop Controller / Technician’s main role will be to assist with the day to day workshop activities; monitor and undertake repairs and maintain equipment such as elevating work platforms, telescopic handlers, skid steers and forklifts; liaise with the Service Supervisor on matters required for the effective operation of the MCS workshop.**

**Critical Responsibilities**:
- **Direct and control direct reports,**
- **Monitor and undertake workshop repairs and maintenance**
- **Liaise with the Service Supervisor**
- **Customer satisfaction**
- **Safety / Quality**
- **Cross functional support / Training**
**Main Responsibilities**:
- **Assist with the supervision of the day to day workshop operations**
- **Direct and supervise allocated employees’ work schedules**
- **Liaise with and supervise external contractors when required**
- **Monitor and undertake repairs and maintain equipment**
- **Assist with and undertake pre-delivery inspections and modifications on new machines such as elevating work platforms, telescopic handlers, skid steers and forklifts.**
- **Observe mechanical devices in operation according to manufacturer requirements and performs diagnostic procedures to locate causes of faults**
- **Calibrates equipment using electronic aids and procedures and programmable controllers**
- **Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.**
- **Install special functional and structural parts in devices and equipment**
- **Lubricates and cleans parts**
- **Starts / operates devices to test their performance**
- **Liaise with spare parts team to determine parts required for repairs**
- **Ensure safety principles and standards are always adhered to**
- **Observe all safe working practices and the use of personal protective equipment as and when provided.**
- **Carryout tasks in a safe and efficient manner**
- **Report ALL accidents, incidents and hazardous situations arising in the course of work.**
- **Use Manitou systems and tools to log job status, report, consult documentation, escalate issues etc.**
**Transversal projects and innovation**
- **Where required, participate on transversal projects to support the development of Manitou Center activity**
- **Propose and Innovate on targeted actions to bring more added value to our dealers and customers**
**The Person skills & attributes**:
- **Good record keeping and administrative skills**
- **Working knowledge of MCS administrative procedures**
- **Thorough knowledge of workshop operations**
- **Sound knowledge of servicing and maintenance of all plant**
- **Good technical background experience in hydraulics and electrics for supporting machinery: e.g.: telescopic handlers, forklift, tractors, earthmoving equipment, etc.**
- **Basic computer skills**
- **Excellent interpersonal relationship and customer focused.**
- **Good verbal and written communication skills**
- **Demonstrated time management and organisational skills**
- **Developed team development and leadership skills**
- **Demonstrated supervisory experience within a diverse mechanical workshop**
- **Solid analysing and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical problems**
- **Good understanding of health and safety regulations**
- **Person who wants to participate strongly in the development of a growing business.**
- **Languages: English (native tongue or fully fluent)
