**The Opportunity**
Working on the Gippsland Line Upgrade project in Gippsland/ Morwell-Bunyip. Meals and accommodation paid for if required, otherwise the first station is 1 hour’s drive from Melbourne CBD. Perfect opportunity if you enjoy 100% project and site-based work. Interesting works due to the environment impact to local area. The project is over 150km of track with expose to many local fauna and flora
**Key responsibilities include**
- Regular site surveillance inspection to ensure that Environmental obligations are implemented and maintained.
- Regular field monitoring activities for water quality, noise, vibration and dust emissions.
- Ensure that environmental aspects are identified, risks assessed and control measures planned and implemented in consultation with relevant employees (WMSs & JSEAs).
- Promptly advise senior management of any issues that could be deleterious to the natural or built environments.
- Advise construction personnel of the project and legal obligations in accordance with construction environmental management plan and associated documents.
- Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, which form part of the contract and environmental legal obligations.
- Ensure that all personnel are inducted and trained and aware of their roles and responsibilities relating to environmental management and compliance.
- Assess and allocate priorities as necessary & advise the project director promptly
**Requirements to be successful**
- Self-confident and ability to persuade, convince or impress others in order to gain their commitment and co-operation to a course of action.
- Understanding of core environmental principles and regulations
- Solid communication skills, both verbal and written
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent
