Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a **Clinical Trial Coordinator** to join our Neuroscience Molecular Imaging Research Team.

**Details of Department**

The Department of Molecular Imaging & Therapy is the largest in Australia and has three PET cameras, one of which is dedicated to brain research. It is active in the development of new scans for the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. The Neuroscience Molecular Imaging Research Team is currently studying areas that include beta-amyloid imaging in aging and dementia and dopaminergic neuronal imaging in Parkinson’s disease. The group has active collaborations with the University of Melbourne, Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, CSIRO, and European and US based companies.

**Details of position/position requirements**

As a Clinical Trial Coordinator you will be responsible for the coordination of assigned studies and management of research participants. This includes implementing and conducting procedures as outlined in the HREC approved study protocols.

**To be successful in this role you must be a** **Registered Nurse (Division 1) currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, **and have the following essential knowledge and skills:

- Considerable nursing knowledge, experience or interest demonstrating the appropriate competencies and skills for the job and clinical setting.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form.
- Well-developed organisational skills with an ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize delegated tasks.
- Work well under pressure to meet deadlines and requirements.
- Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and contribute to the research team with excellent team working skills and an ability to work using own initiative within own experience and knowledge.
- Demonstrate excellent problem solving ability in a variety of situations.
- Intermediate computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Flexibility in work ethic - there may be a need to work at both Austin Health and the University of Melbourne.
- Competent with intravenous cannulation.
- Willingness to receive training and accreditation for safe injection of radiopharmaceuticals and then perform this function as required.
