**The opportunity**

The newly established TOP SECRET-Privileged Access (TS-PA) Vetting Authority will centralise Australia's highest-level security clearance functions within ASIO over the coming years. Successful applicants will play an instrumental role in building this new capability, established to help protect Australia from the threat of espionage and foreign interference.

This is an exciting time to join ASIO as we scale this capability. We are have multiple vacancies as we increase our vetting capability, including:

- AE4 Vetting Administrators (APS4 equivalent).
- AE5 Vetting Assessors (APS5 equivalent)

We are looking for people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, bringing transferrable skills from professions including, but not limited to:

- HR or procurement.
- Defence, government, or policy.
- Psychology or counselling.
- Office management or business administration.
- consulting or contracting.

A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies. The merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.

**Role responsibilities**

Vetting professionals contribute to vetting assessments in line with whole-of-government and ASIO security policies. Successful applicants will play a critical role in ensuring the right people have the necessary clearance to work in sensitive environments.

AE4 Vetting Administrators:

- Work as part of a team to support vetting activities.
- Undertake data entry, perform general administrative duties, and respond to general queries.
- Support the vetting assessment process with discretion and in accordance with policy and legal requirements.

AE5 Vetting Assessors:

- Conduct research, checks, and perform administrative functions for vetting assessments.
- Engage with clearance applicants and external stakeholders to fill gaps in information.
- Conduct analysis, write assessments and provide advice that identifies areas for further resolution in the vetting process.

To be eligible for the role, you must be:

- An Australian citizen.
- Assessed as suitable to hold and maintain a TOP SECRET-Privileged Access security clearance.
