The Buildex Machine Operator will ensure the efficient & effective sorting, painting (both batch and auto head paint) and packing of products ensuring products meets the required specification or standard before being shipped to the customer or warehouse in full and on time.

Based in Moorabbin

**To be successful in this position you will**:
Auto Head Paint Lines
- Be able to operate auto head painting lines and other equipment according to skill level and according to production plan and within established times;
- Monitor and maintain paint conditions and ensures correct coating operations are followed to meet Company quality standards:

- Complete all necessary tests and documents as part of the quality procedures at the specified intervals;
- Be expected to complete production time sheets accurately and within the specified time;
- Support the Team Coordinator in organising work within the department and assists in troubleshooting production related problems;
- Be conversant with specific safety issues related to the operation of the auto head painting process and associated equipment and raw materials;
- Be conversant with the actions to be taken in the event of all emergency situations that can develop with the batch head painting process and associated equipment and raw materials;
- Be conversant with the handling and storage of all dangerous goods and materials used in the auto head painting process; and
- Operate Washer Assembly machine as per standard operating procedure.

Batch/Sort/Pack
- Quality check as required including but not limited to;
- Inspect & sort parts so defective product is not shipped to the next operation or customer/Correct counts in boxes/Correct boxes and labels used/Documentation and cards filled out correctly;
- Fully proficient with the racking, de-racking & spraying operations of the department and material handling equipment;
- Fully proficient with the operation of the label printing machine and prints labels as required;
- Incumbent(s) must understand the operation & conduct minor trouble shooting of the racking robot equipment as well as know when to escalate issues to the team co-ordinator &/or maintenance;
- Ensure packed and/or sorted product meet the required specification or standard before being shipped to the customer or warehouse; and
- Must always follow correct manual handling procedures and use manual handling equipment that is provided.

- Participate in continuous improvement programs and attend communication and training sessions;
- Appreciate internal and external customer expectations;
- Advise the Leading Hand or Team Coordinator of work-flow issues such a low level of packing requirements;
- Perform any other duties as requested by the Team Coordinator that is within the competency or that can be trained in;
- Is required to keep machines under his control and workplace clean and tidy daily, and organised via the 5S+1 programme;
- Carries out training when required for lesser experienced operators and casual staff; and
- Is expected to develop skills such that multiple tasks can be completed. This will be achieved through specific training programs which may be either on the job or of a more formal nature;
