**About us**
Jewish Care Victoria, is a not-for-profit organisation and is one of the largest providers of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria and has been servicing the community. Our staff come from all cultural and religious backgrounds, and we provide cultural and spiritual training in the Jewish Ethos.
**What you will do**
As Catering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food operations which include, preparation and service, ordering, cost and quality control of the site. Our residential aged care home provides medical/rehabilitative care, restorative care and dementia care.
Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will lead a close-knit Catering team in a diverse kosher kitchen. Your passion and professionalism will be valued in making a difference to our residents. Meal time is one of the highlights of the day for our residents and you will play a very important part in this.
- Be responsible for providing high quality catering service which will be a point of difference for residents and will enrich the lives of the people living with us.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and the JCV food safety plan.
- Manage the rostering of chefs, cooks and kitchen staff.
- Manage food ordering and storage according to relevant regulations.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources and maximise service offering within budget.
- Lead and coach all kitchen personnel, developing their skills and maximising potential.
**You will bring**
- The ability to turn a basic meal into an event
- Excellent leadership, customer service and communication skills
- A commitment to the values and ethos of Jewish Care
- Experience in Aged Care or Health Care environment highly advantageous.
- Certificate IV (or greater) in Commercial Cookery
- Food safety supervisor certificate
- Highly organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks, including working collaboratively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
- Good understanding of infection control and Workplace Health & Safety.
