**The Position***

**Position Title**: Community Development Worker - Carer Support Services
- **Classification**: XV16 - ON14
- **Salary per hour (exc. super)**: $37.12 - $43.12
- **Hours per fortnight**: 64 hours
- **Employment Status**: Part Time Fixed Term
- **Other requirements**: COVID-19 Vaccination

**Role Description**
- This position develops and monitors a program of community development and service enhancement activities for carers throughout the Loddon Mallee Region. These activities support unpaid carers in their caring role, and are designed in collaboration with carers and other regional stakeholders, based on service gap analysis and consultation. The role will also have direct carer contact.
- The position is based at the Bendigo office and requires regional travel for consultation, initiative establishment, network meetings and CSS team meetings.
- This is a fixed term position and will report to the CSS Team Leader.

**The Team**
- The Community and Public Health Services Division has a primary focus on improving the health outcomes of the communities in our region. With a range of local and regional programs supporting place-based health promotion, prevention, care and support, they work collaboratively with other Divisions and regional partnerships and networks to support quality outcomes. The Division has a strong leadership role in the Loddon Mallee Region and is committed to ensuring processes are in place to deliver on our Division.

**Selection Criteria**
- Essential : Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Public Health or equivalent, or significant work history with a transferable role
- Essential : Excellent communication, negotiating, problem solving and interpersonal skills, including experience in group facilitation
- Essential : Sound understanding of and ability to work with the issues affecting carers
- Essential : Sound understanding of the regional health and community service system and the impact of reform
- Essential : Demonstrated understanding of service enhancement principles and demonstrated capacity to guide implementation of community development activities that enhance respite opportunities for carers
- Essential : Demonstrated skills in project development and co-design principles to optimise responses to service gaps
- Essential : Experience and confidence with information technology
- Essential : Ability to work unsupervised and to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and schedules as required
- Essential : Demonstrated organisational skills, including time management and willingness to work to agreed processes
