**About the role**:
The Commercial Finance Analyst is a key role in the business providing analysis on new strategic activities and business plans such as mergers, acquisitions, and other growth opportunities. A key deliverable is the preparation of business reporting to internal & external stakeholders and having input into the business forecast and budgets.

You will deliver value through accurate and meaningful monthly reporting to the internal business stakeholders in addition to analysis on new business opportunities.

Other responsibilities include:
**Business Management, Reporting & Budgets** - work with the FP&A Manager to further develop and improve monthly reporting and provide insightful commentary to various stakeholders
- Work with the business to develop budgets, forecasts and KPIs. Be a business partner to the various business units, providing them with relevant financial support and insights.
- Assist the FP&A Manager in planning and coordinating the Annual Budget with the BU Operational Heads, integrating it into an Excel model that can then be used for analysis & scenarios.
- Preparing business unit P&L’s and capex reporting compared to budget in conjunction with meeting monthly with BU leaders to assist their decision making.
- Holding the internal stakeholders accountable for meeting the set KPIs including using these as a basis for future forecasts and budgets.
- Assist the FP&A Manager with entering data into the Business Investment Model, understanding the impact of these inputs, and analysing the results of the model.
- Assisting continual improvement projects around systems as CDC implements upgrades to existing Financial Reporting Systems
- Ad hoc reporting as required from time to time.

**Board Reporting & Business Growth** - producing and continuously improving the monthly Board reporting pack having scope through the analysis & commentary to provide insights, heighten understanding and add value for the Board.
- Preparing business insights, analytical commentary, detailing trends and answering director queries for the monthly Board pack.
- Processing improvements and answering director queries and as far as possible anticipating the analysis required by stakeholders (senior management and Board) to drive improvements in information provided.
- Analyse the impact of investment opportunities on CDC’s valuation, funding requirements etc
- Assistance with modelling, information requests and reporting for any transactions, re-financing and valuations.
- Assist in preparation of up-to-date forecasts and supporting information and analysis for external valuers for the routine valuation of CDC’s equity, management incentive schemes and investment properties.
- Respond to questions from financial partners, shareholders, investment analysts, financial institutions, potential investors, executives, auditors, public officials, etc in a timely manner.
- Proactively prepare analyses, reports and presentations for various stakeholder requirements.

**About you**:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant from a recognized accounting body
- Demonstrated ability of being proactive and able to work independently and in a small-medium team working to clear deadlines.
- High level of organisational and planning skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
- Highly motivated with a proven record of successful achievement.
- Experience with advanced Excel functionality particularly skills associated to investment management principles (IRR’s, NPV, etc.), cash flow, model architecture and scenario analysis.
- Attention to detail is paramount along with consistency and logical thinking.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to communicate key messages in a clear, structured, impactful way that supports business decision making.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Interest in technology, systems, and efficient processes.
