**Position Purpose**

The gym instructor role is a key position in the ACU Active team. The key objectives of this role is to provide exercise advice and instruction on the safe operation of ACU Active equipment to members, underpinned by high level customer service and engagement

**Key Responsibilities**

Provide a range of health and fitness-based services to the ACU Active membership base, including;
- Provision of core services to members, including screenings, physical assessments and designing individual and group fitness programs in accordance with ACU Active policies and procedures
- Proactive and diligent supervision of the gym floor and assist with operational needs such as welcoming new members, providing training advice, technique correction, cleaning of equipment, adhering to state OH&S and WHS regulations
- Assisting in the development, implementation and review of member engagement programs and services
- Assisting coordinator to review, evaluate and develop the effectiveness of health and fitness services, programs and promotional activities
- Providing social media content to engage, motivate and educate existing ACU Active members and non-members, particularly the female student cohort.

Undertake customer service and administrative tasks, including but not limited to:

- Data entry and basic statistical reporting
- Providing a high level of customer service and communication with existing and prospective members including the provision feedback, motivation and maintaining a happy and encouraging environment
- Positively promoting the benefits of membership and engagement in sport, health and wellbeing programs at ACU
- Promoting a positive image of ACU Active through professional standards of workplace and personal presentation and the efficient and effective completion of work tasks, lessons and programs

**Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience**
- Progress or completion of Bachelor Degree in Exercise / Sport Science
- Sound knowledge and technical skills in prescribing and supervising one on one and group exercise
- Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to professionally liaise with peers, colleagues and clients at all levels
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- A demonstrated commitment to providing high levels of engagement and customer service
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to varying tasks and priorities
