An exciting opportunity exists for a **Health and Security Assistant** to join the **Facility Support Department** with the **Northern and Southern** **Hospitals.**

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

**What you'll be doing**
- The Health & Security Officer (Cleaner) primary purpose is to provide a clean, hygienic and safe environment for patients/clients, visitors and staff in specified areas.
- The position will also have a responsibility to ensure the protection, security and safety of all staff, patients and visitors.
- Hold a current Class 1A NSW Security Licence, current First Aid Certificate and a current valid Class C Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to Work Health and Safety issues involved in lifting and transferring patients.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand essential documentation including safe work practices and infection control procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively and safely managing confrontation and aggression.
- Demonstrated experience in providing services with a strong responsive customer service focus.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating appropriately and effectively in a wide range of complex situations.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills.
