**About the opportunity**

Located along the Westlink M7, Our Blacktown International Sportspark is the premier elite training and playing facility in Western Sydney. First opened in 2000 for the Sydney Olympic Games, the facility has continued to grow and now incorporates a variety of sporting facilities across 54 hectares, including:

- Blacktown Football Park
- 15 soccer fields with the inclusion of 6 additional fields completed in May 2020
- Western Sydney Wanderers administration and training facility
- Blacktown District Soccer Football Association administration and training facility
- Athletics
- International Association of Athletics Foundation (IAAF) Mondo track
- Turf Infield
- Multi-Use field for League, Union and Soccer
- Cricket/AFL Precinct
- Two ovals for cricket and AFL in addition to Joe McAleer Reserve (NSW Premier Cricket Ground of the Year 2016-17 and 2017-18)
- 32 turf practice wickets for international, first-class, and Cricket NSW academy training

We are currently looking to appoint a Grounds Person on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Team Leader you will gain exposure in the development of annual turf management plans and take proactive steps to drive the continued improvement of playing and training facilities.

As part of an experienced and passionate grounds team, you will be responsible for hands-on turf maintenance across the various sporting facilities and surrounds within Blacktown International Sportspark Sydney.

If you have experience in the preparation of turf cricket wickets, preparation of baseball and softball facilities, knowledge of irrigation systems and a good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety then this could be the role for you

**Position purpose**:

- To Prepare, maintain, and operate BISP sports facilities and landscaped areas at the highest standard in both event and non-event mode
- Maintain tools, plant, and equipment in a serviceable and safe condition
- Accountable for contractors assigned to you.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Relevant qualifications in Greenkeeping/Horticulture
- Extensive experience in the preparation of sand profile sports fields and/or horticulture
- Current class C driver's licence
- Experience in a busy park and/or public venue maintenance
- Chemical Application Accreditation
- Demonstrated commitment to and experience in providing high-quality customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Availability to work flexible working hours.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,170.00 per week with an additional 15.78% for rostered weekend work in accordance with the BISP Flexibility Agreement
- Available to work on weekends (example roster)
- 38-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every third week
