First Nations Case Worker

**The Role**
The Families and Young People Services Team are currently looking for a Permanent Full-Time Case Worker in our Connected Families Program. Connected Families Program is an Intensive Family Support (IFS) service supporting the Greater Ipswich Region.
This role is responsible for quality service delivery to children, young people, families and the community within the Connected Families Service. This position will provide support and case management for families, particularly First Nations Families engaged in the program, with a view to supporting highly vulnerable families to become stronger, capable and more resilient and improving overall wellbeing.
This position offers a competitive salary of $70,682 to $83,486 per hour plus superannuation (dependent on qualifications and experience). You can also increase your take-home pay by salary sacrificing and other benefits available.
**To be eligible for this position you will require (Key Selection Criteria)**:
- Hold a 3- or 4-year tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology or related discipline.
- To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person and is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Child Protection system.
- Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel.
- Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement, unless applicable exemption provided as per the relevant Mercy Community procedure.
- You must hold a current Queensland Provisional Green or Open Drivers Licence.
- You must hold a positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and be able to obtain a positive Police Check and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required
