**About the Role**
The Principal Adviser Waste is accountable to the Manager Circular Economy and Waste for the management of staff and environmental authorisations across the State. The key functions of the Circular Economy & Waste branch are Waste Regulation, Regulatory Strategy & Waste Policy, Waste Levy and Container Deposit Scheme & Product Stewardship.

The Principal Adviser Waste:

- Is a key source of expert advice in relation to waste regulation and resource recovery sector for the EPA.
- Provides high quality professional verbal and written communication to a range of stakeholders.
- Is responsible for leading a team of professionals in relation to complex matters.
- Establishes new policies aligned with the objects of the _Environment Protection Act 1993_ (EP Act).
- Implements the relevant statutory requirements of the EP Act.

Work may include:

- Coordinating the environmental impact assessment of proposals, including the negotiation of environment improvement programs and licence conditions.
- Coordinating compliance monitoring of authorised activities and ensuring activities of environmental significance are undertaken in accordance with the EP Act.
- Providing high level advice on environmental management technology and regulatory practice.
- Coordinating a program of work aimed at enhancing the Branch’s approach to regulatory and other work.

**Essential Qualification**
A degree in Science, Engineering, Environmental Management or a related discipline.

**Remuneration**
PO4 ($110,696 to $120,470) + 11.5% superannuation paid to your choice of super fund.

**Contract**
Two (2) contracts available: x1 ongoing contract and x1 12 month contract.
