headspace / Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking a compassionate Aboriginal Community Health Worker to join our dedicated team. This role will focus on providing flexible, holistic, and culturally sensitive health services to Aboriginal young people aged 12-25 years, as well as their families and carers, to improve health outcomes and ensure better access to essential health services.
**About the Role**
The **Aboriginal Community Health Worker** will play a key liaison role between headspace CCLHD and the local Aboriginal community, as well as Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, fostering partnerships to support healthcare planning and service delivery. You will be working Monday to Friday 08:30am - 5:00 pm across the headspace sites at Gosford, Lake Haven and Wyong.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide culturally safe, flexible, and comprehensive health services to Aboriginal young people (12-25 years), their families, and carers.
- Act as a liaison between headspace CCLHD and local Aboriginal communities, ensuring that the health needs of young people are met.
- Facilitate access to appropriate services and resources for Aboriginal youth, ensuring culturally sensitive care and support.
- Provide cultural consultancy to headspace CCLHD staff, supporting the integration of cultural safety and awareness in service delivery.
- Assist in the development and delivery of outreach activities and health promotion initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of Aboriginal youth.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, local organisations, and stakeholders to ensure holistic, wraparound support for Aboriginal young people.

**About You**
- This is an Aboriginal Identified position. An applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification for this role and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW.
You have experience as a provider of flexible, holistic and culturally sensitive health services to the Aboriginal community, and holds or aspires to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification in the area of mental health or youth health.
- Current unrestricted driver's license and willingness to travel for work.
- Possession of a valid and current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
