The objective of the Information Security Training and Awareness Specialist role is to be responsible for the development, review, implementation, and maintenance of VA’s information security training and awareness programs.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Develop, renew, implement and maintain VA’s Information Security training and awareness program to mitigate risks and ensure employees understand their role in keeping VA secure.
- Work with other specialists across the team to identify and evaluate the top risks to the organisation and the changes in behaviour that would mitigate them.
- Create and manages a metrics framework that measures compliance with information security policies and the overall effectiveness of the security training and awareness program.
- Establish and maintain an understanding of employee awareness around the organisation.
- Works with business units to tailor information security training and awareness materials to improve outcomes and meet regulatory and compliance standards.
- Create and manage effective, targeted, awareness training, communications and awareness materials that ensures employees and third parties understand, acknowledge and fulfil their information security responsibilities.
- Ensure information security training, communications and awareness are engaging and influences change in employee behaviour,
- Iterate and continuously improve upon existing materials to keep campaigns fresh and engaging.

**You’ll be great in this role if you have**:

- Experience in a similar training role or in communications or marketing.
- Demonstrated experience in technical training or adult education.
- Skills communicating risks and security concepts to a wide audience in clear and approachable language
- Effective influencing skills to convince others to make appropriate changes in their priorities and behaviours.
- Experience working with Information Security, HR, Risk Management and Compliance Teams.
- Strong understanding of Information Security controls and concepts along with fundamentals of risk management
