- 256909Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Security Analyst for a long-term contract role with an initial duration of 5 months. There is a possibility of extensions for up to 6 months, with a total of 2 extensions. The position is located in ACT, QLD, SA, VIC, and the contractor will be required to attend and undertake work at client's office in one of the nominated capital cities for a minimum of 3 days per week. Flexible working arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

As the Security Analyst, you will be responsible for performing current state analysis, requirements analysis, and the implementation of cyber security monitoring and reporting services. Your role will involve working with secure gateway operations, monitoring, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) services. Experience with technologies such as IBM QRadar, network gateways, and the Mitre Att&ck and Mitre D3fend frameworks is preferred.

Key Tasks/Duties:

- Elicit, analyze, and manage security requirements
- Prioritize and escalate security issues
- Communicate the implications of security configuration changes
- Analyze the cyber security impacts of change management requests
- Provide specialist technical infrastructure security advice
- Assist in the development and implementation of cyber security strategies and policies
- Research emerging technologies and provide recommendations
- Prepare and maintain documentation
- Support procedures, encourage innovation, and manage change

Requirements: Mandatory Criteria:

- Demonstrated experience and success in analyzing gateway and network security monitoring solutions, including SIEM configuration, SOC operations, and reporting.

Weighted Criteria:

- Demonstrated experience in the configuration and deployment of IBM QRadar, use case development, and reporting capabilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry Cyber Security frameworks, best practices, and standards, including the Mitre Att&ck and D3fend frameworks.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with security requirements and solutions in line with Federal Government information security policy and Cyber Security principles and guidelines.
