About the role

We are looking for an experienced banking & finance lawyer who has a keen interest in writing and content creation, and a strong understanding of the processes in a legal practitioner’s workflow.

The primary purpose of this role is to develop and maintain high quality up-to-date practical legal content on banking & finance law for LexisNexis’ popular Practical Guidance product, which is Australia’s most established and trusted digital ‘how-to guide’ of legal practice.

Initially a 12 month contract, there will be an option to extend and we are looking for a commitment of 3 to 3.5 days per week. Some regular in-office time is preferable, but there is also the opportunity to work flexibly and from home. It could also suit interstate applicants from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth or Canberra.

Key responsibilities:
- Develop new banking & finance law content such as guidance notes, checklists and precedents, and tools- Update and enhance existing content in the banking & finance module- Keep subscribers up to date on developments in banking & finance law in Australia through current awareness initiatives- Support our sales, marketing and engagement teams in their initiatives to promote content in the module- Work with legal writers across the Practical Guidance team including the Corporations, Insolvency & Restructuring, Consumer, and Business modules- Support the implementation of content plans and priorities for the digital delivery of banking & finance law content to private practice and in-house lawyers, barristers, government and regulatory bodies, academics and students

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 2+ years PQE with a keen interest in writing, content creation and legal research- Experience in an Australian mid to top tier law firm or in-house counsel role or equivalent- A practice background in Banking & Finance Law- Excellent communication and plain-English writing skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail- Aptitude for building and fostering relationships with a range of diverse clients and local and international stakeholders- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
