**About the role**:
To ensure the provision of a high-quality innovative educational program that meets the needs of children aged from birth to 6 years. To ensure the care and education program aligns with the Early Childhood Services Philosophy, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework as well as the National Quality Standards.

**Skills, experience and qualifications:
- Successful completion of Certificate 3 or equivalent (mandatory)
- Current, recognised Level 2 First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate, with CPR updates completed within the last 12 months (mandatory)
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
- Awareness of the cultural needs of families.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to maintain written records and write reports relating to program goals and child development.
- Knowledge and understanding of mandatory Reporting requirements
- Ensure that all interactions with the children and families are positive, respectful and friendly, and be available to liaise with families on their children’s day at the service including daily routines and experiences.
- Create opportunities and actively support children to contribute to decisionmaking using ethical consultation processes at the service.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of the children’s educational program by undertaking observations of the children, and contributing to the ongoing development of individual children
- s records and learning journals.
- Actively participate in the National Quality Standards & service-specific Risk Analysis.
- Participate in and support the development and implementation of centre policies and procedures as outlined in the Early Childhood Service Policies and Procedures Handbook and the Early Childhood Services Staff Handbook.
- Work collaboratively and actively contribute to the team environment by using initiative to enhance the day-to-day functioning at the centre.
