Store Manager

**Store Manager Role**

The Store Manager of the Clifton Hill Birkenstock Boutique oversees the store operations and management of shift supervisors and retail assistants.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

You will carry out such other duties as may be directed by Birkis4u Pty Ltd that are within the limits of your skill, competence and training. Without limiting the generality of these duties, such duties may include:

- Overseeing the Clifton Hill Store operations
- Working with the Assistant Store Manager to ensure a solid working environment
- Assisting with and managing staff rostering and leave requests.
- Developing and streamlining existing daily paperwork and reporting
- Updating Birkenstock staff training procedures
- Developing store KPIs and sales targets
- Sales analysis and reporting
- Sales forecasting
- Developing the Birkenstock brand identity
- Maintaining our people and culture values
- Monthly meetings with the Doncaster and St Collins Lane managers
- Working with the Retail Operations Manager and the Retail Operations Coordinator to ensure the smooth flow and productivity of the Store Operations
- Implementing and maintaining a safe and hazard free environment for all staff and customers within the store.
- Implementing our sustainability model with the assistance of the Environmental Officer at Birkis4u Pty Ltd/Birkenstock Australia Pty Ltd
- Visual Merchandising planning and strategy with the assistance of the Marketing Manager at Birkenstock Australia Pty Ltd

In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the duties and responsibilities of the store manager position also apply. Without limiting the generality of these duties, such duties may include:

- Answering customer enquiries either over the telephone or in person
- Taking mail orders
- Serving customers
- Assessing repairs and advising customers
- Handling cash transactions, handling credit card and EFTPOS transactions
- Banking
- Packing and posting of mail orders
- Handling customer complaints

**Policies and Procedures**
- Know and understand all company policies and procedures and act accordingly, i.e., keep an eye out for safety hazards and address them or organise for them to be addressed immediately.
- Ensure all staff are aware of policies and procedures.
- Ensure all staff log on and off Deputy on a shift-by-shift basis.

**Staff Training and Supervision**
- Provide or organise training for staff in aspects that need to be addressed.
- Recognise and address staff members’ strengths and weaknesses.
- Positive reinforcement and encouragement
- Request and organise staff meetings.
- Organise for new staff members to be inducted according to the induction policy.
- Organise for existing staff members to be re-inducted (one at a time)
- Communicate “mission statement” to all staff.
- Create positive attitude towards customers.
- Create positive work environment, re-enforce mutual respect, also respect for customers.
- Supervising shop assistants

**Communication**
- Communicate effectively with Head Office, ask for support and guidance as required from the Retail Operations Manager or HR Generalist
- Maintain a communications book for all staff and check regularly.

**Hours of Work**
- 37 ½ hours per week
- Ideally Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday or we can facilitate a fortnightly rotation roster of Monday-Friday and then a weekend the following week.
- Must be flexible and cater to the needs of the store as required.

**Salary**: From $60,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Retail management: 2 years (required)
- Leadership: 1 year (preferred)
