**About the Role**
Key responsibilities will also include:
- Plan, deliver and monitor team activity scope, ensuring requirements are delivered to time, quality and cost.
- Responsible for the development and upkeep of project specific engineering management documentation.
- Lead technical information presentation and discussion (including formal reviews) with customers (internal and external).
- Lead accurate and appropriate technical documentation records being securely developed and maintained in the appropriate data management system to support through life knowledge capture.
- Responsible for the Product Safety implications and consequences of their role in the Engineering Lifecycle.
- Ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities
- Ensure their team are familiar with and comply to statutory regulations associated with the design, supply, support and disposal of Products in accordance with the relevant state/territory of the customer/user.
- May act as Technical Authority in the appropriate Class/Speciality when authorised to do so by Company Technical Authority or delegated authority.
- Expected to make complex engineering decisions throughout the lifecycle of the program/product.
- Have a good understanding of the design, analysis, manufacturing, and support techniques associated with their discipline.
- Have a satisfactory understanding of techniques and technologies that may interface with Products and own discipline.
- Conduct multi-domain technical risk assessments.
- Provide good engineering advice in area of technical or operational expertise & experience to the wider Babcock as necessary to maximise knowledge transfer and build operational capability.
- Review and Approval of business development artifacts to facilitate the development of successful bids (in accordance with applicable DoA)
- Seek and share good practice and knowledge locally, keep up to date with advancements in relevant technical areas and continue to develop skills and capabilities, to continuously improve both own and colleagues' practice and professional development.
- Support succession planning and talent management, including the technical and professional development of team members, to enable a sustainable engineering and technical capability.
- Lead good working relationships within the technical teams and the wider Babcock to enable effective use of Business capability.
- Lead process improvement within the engineering lifecycle to deliver continuous improvements in quality, cycle time and asset utilisation.
- Lead development of sustainable and innovative solutions and processes for the benefit of the organisation, the community, and the world.
**About you**
You will hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor’s degree in Engineering or hold the recognised engineering qualifications to be eligible to obtain Professional Engineer category Membership through a recognised body..
You will also have:
- Membership of a relevant engineering body with Chartered status and with a desire for Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
- Completed additional training in management specialism.
- Approximately 10 years relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
- Approximately 2 years of experience in managing applicable engineer function and/or technical delivery.
- An excellent understanding of applicable Engineering Toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software)
