**The role**:
The purpose of this position is to assist GWF in fulfilling its tax compliance obligations across FBT, GST and income tax. This will be achieved through correct coding of transactions in the general ledger enabling accurate information to be relied upon by GWF Tax Team in compilation of various returns. Correct coding will be achieved in several ways - reviewing all employee expense / credit card claims before they are posted to the ledger together with post ledger reviews of other transactions. The position will also identify and implement opportunities for simplifying expense coding for employees enabling easier tax compliance.
As a Tax Compliance Analyst, you will provide accounting support in the following areas across Australia and NZ;
- Responsible for the review of expense claims to ensure compliance with the relevant tax legislation.
- Primary contact responding to expense coding questions from stakeholders, including questions regarding expense claims in process, and providing follow-up for claims that require further documentation.
- Education of users and change management in relation to tax coding/processes, with improved learning outcomes and encouraging adoption of best practices following transition from Fraedom to SAP Concur
- Collaborating with Group Tax on continuous improvement initiatives
- Annual contractor tax review
- Ensuring and maintaining the integrity of general ledger transactions by maintaining support for journal entries and adjustments processed
- Preparation and co-ordination of intercompany and transfer pricing balances
- Review tax sensitive accounts to ensure correct calculations and adjustments for tax compliance purposes.
- Support completion of tax adjustment (in CCH Integrator) for year-end tax provision calculation.
- Identify and collate relevant information relating to international related party transactions for GWF divisions and non-operating properties.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to improve tax coding quality in Concur.
- Tax SME within BTS Financial Services team.
- Back-up support and ad-hoc work for other roles as and when required.
**About you**:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar discipline
- CPA or CA Qualification
- 5+ years financial accounting and tax accounting experience
- SAP experience
