We are seeking a **Mechanical Fitter** to join our Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance team within the Customer Delivery division.

- Base salary range of $85,665 - $97,122 plus 11.5% Superannuation

**The Opportunity**

As the Mechanical Fitter you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and operational functions of all mechanical assets within Hunter Water's area of interest.

**What you'll do**:

- Planned and corrective maintenance, condition assessment, fault finding/diagnosis and rectification of mechanical equipment. Primarily the works would be associated on pumps and valves.
- Overhauls and replacement of pumps and associated equipment in the mechanical workshop located at Tomago
- Maintenance and breakdown of chemical systems associated with water treatment
- Assisting treatment plant maintainers as required.
- Working and liaising with contractors and other internal Hunter Water staff.
- Accurate initiation and completion of all relevant documentation in Field Service Model (FSM), Ellipse, and TRIM, in a timely and appropriate manner.

**What you'll need to be successful**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- Current Mechanical Trade certificate
- Class MR Driver’s Licence (or higher), or willingness to self-obtain within 1 month of commencement.
- Leadership training
- Construction induction card
- Demonstrated minimum 4 years’ recent experience in the Mechanical trade field
- Sound knowledge of technical and WHS requirements in order to achieve satisfactory completion of works allocated
- Demonstrated skills with mechanical maintenance systems
- Agree to act within the requirements of Hunter Water’s policies and applicable legislation.
- Model Hunter Water’s organisational values.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Knowledge of water and wastewater equipment, system and processes
- Confined Space entry and rescue
- Dogging
- KASA - Water/Wastewater Pumping & Piping Fundamentals
- Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (e.g. Ellipse)
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft suite
- Emergency First Aid
- Chlorine Handling
- Working at Heights
- Elevated work platform licence
- Forklift licence
- CPR
- Low Voltage Release and Rescue
- Safe Work Near Overhead Powerlines
- Environmental Incident Management - Notification & Reporting
- Environmental Incident Management - Field Response and clean up
