Key responsibilities of this role
- Undertake detailed genealogical research relating to the history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Undertake on a project basis, research and analysis on issues relevant to the Unit, in particular issues relating to the government administration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Assist in liaison, negotiation and consultation with key stakeholders including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities, Indigenous organisations including Link-Up, and relevant government agencies.
- Preparation of reports, submissions, briefs, memoranda and correspondence as required.
- Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of the Unit's information systems.
- Contribute, as a team member to the planning and other relevant operations of the Unit.
- All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work with the Department.
