**Role Description/Criteria**

The Outdoor Education Program Coordinator has responsibility for all matters related to practical Outdoor Education at the College including the Santa Monica Year 9 Program. The Outdoor Education Coordinator will be employed out of the Essendon Campus but will be based primarily at the Santa Monica site Monday
- Friday. This duty may be delegated when in attendance at other camps.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

- Development of a whole of College approach to Outdoor Education including appropriate documentation addressing:

- Development of Camp programs Year 7 - 11.
- Development of individual Year Level Programs including Year 9 Santa Monica Program
- Oversee all camps
- Responsibility of all external bookings relating to programs
- Responsibility for staffing roster to be completed and included with each program
- Responsibility for the induction of staff into each new program, and the evaluation of that program with staff at its conclusion
- Responsibility for the authorisation of payment of all invoices and communication of transactions with the College Finance Office

The successful applicant will have a teaching qualification and demonstrate the following competencies:

- Teaching qualifications and/or relevant experience including in the discipline of Outdoor Education.
- First Aid Level2.
- Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC).
- Minimum Light Rigid License.
- Demonstrated understanding of the wellbeing and pastoral care needs of students in a Catholic secondary school for boys.
- Demonstrated ability to lead students and staff.
- Demonstrated experience in Educational Leadership.
