Temporary Position for Waste Driver in Local Council

**Your new role**
In this role you will be tasked with duties such as, but not limited to:

- The Collection of household garbage/recycling/organics, commercial waste, parks waste and bundle branch collection.
- Garbage/recycling/organics clearance from mobile garbage bins put out for emptying by residents.
- Reducing the impact of collection activities on the environment by ensuring that all waste spilt while collecting is recovered and oil or fuel spills are contained.
- To assist with the repairs of Mobile Garbage Bins when required.
- To carry out regular routine maintenance to truck.
- To assist with any task undertaken by the Waste Management unit as directed by Supervisor.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills as evidenced by understanding written and verbal instructions
- Experience operating side loader waste collection vehicles
- Understanding of current safe working practices
- Willingness to work as part of a team to achieve group task
- A Heavy truck license is a must
