2025 is a School Review year for Valkstone Primary School, so the successful applicant will have a unique opportunity to help participate in the review, leading to the development of a new School Strategic Plan. Through their active participation and contributions to the School Improvement Team, they will also help lead the annual monitoring of the School Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan goals.

**The successful applicant in this role will**:

- Implement and oversee the updated Victorian Teaching and Learning Model, emphasizing explicit teaching in Literacy
- Lead the development and implementation of English 2.0 Victorian Curriculum
- Lead the analysis of whole-school and cohort assessment data that supports staff to analyse data at the student, class, year level and whole school
- Strategically design and lead targeted professional learning for whole school, teams and individual teachers
- Support teachers in implementing evidence-based practices, focusing on explicit teaching methods that benefit all students
- Design instructional strategies that strengthen the connections between decoding abilities and comprehension skills as students¿ progress through year levels
- Lead the implementation of systematic synthetic phonics in Prep to Year 2, ensuring a minimum of 25 minutes daily explicit teaching of phonics and phonemic awareness
- Stay informed about the latest educational research and evidence-based practices in literacy instruction
- Coach PLT Leaders to lead effective planning processes and collaboratively improve teacher practice
- Coaching, mentoring, modelling and co-teaching with teachers to build content knowledge and instructional practice, with a focus on improving Tier 1 instruction across the whole school
- Lead the English Priority Team, including the co-ordination of literacy focused events such as Literacy Week and Book Week
- Manage the English budget and resources

We are upgrading our outdoor courts currently, and they will be amazing when they are finished

**Selection Criteria**:
**SC1** Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum. Demonstrated ability to model exemplary teaching practice, including the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum, and implement school priorities.

**SC2** Demonstrated expertise in the implementation and modelling of high impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs. Demonstrated ability to support teachers to evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth

**SC3** Demonstrated exemplary ability to model the monitoring and as
