Where this role fits in
The Public Relations Coordinator role will sit in the media team within Content & Growth as part of the Product and Audience Division. However, the media team works with all parts of the business, with a specific focus on the growth of REA Group’s data arm PropTrack.
While no two days are ever the same, you’ll:
- Play an integral role in media outreach and engagement on reports, analysis and bespoke data pitches for REA Group’s data business PropTrack.- Work seamlessly with teams across the business to conceive, develop and execute engaging stories in the media, including writing media pitches and media releases.- Support in managing all data-related media requests into the business and will work with our economists and analysts to coordinate a timely and comprehensive response.- Grow and maintain strong relationships with all major newsrooms around the country.Who we’re looking for
As the Public Relations Coordinator, you will be someone who:
- Is a savvy media professional - someone who consumes media, understands what makes news and is comfortable pitching stories to journalists- Has experience leveraging research or data and is able to look at numbers or complex concepts and turn them into simple and engaging narratives for media- Has strong writing skills and the ability to switch between writing styles- Is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, navigating multiple deadlines and stakeholders.- Has strong relationship management skills and previous experience working with multiple stakeholders at all levels of seniority, including media- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, resilience and a sense of pride to get the job done- Is a natural team player who displays the REA Values consistently at the highest level- Has experience working in media relations and PR- Has a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing Communications, or something similar, as well as minimum 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced communications environment
