Job Description:
Position Summary
The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily activities within the workshop. The role will bring together Pre delivery, Service and supporting functions to ensure we meet targets.
This position is also responsible for the general operations of the Pre-Delivery workshop, with particular focus on 5S, continuous improvement, training and support of the team, whilst ensuring that all company procedures, processes, policies and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times. Additionally, this position requires the ability to assist in PDI tasks and on-the-job training of other team members.
**Responsibilities**:
- Set and maintain PDI schedule.- Major inspection quoting, effectively and in a timely manner.- Completion of all relevant paperwork, submitted on time and accurately.- Supervision and training team members.- Use hazard identification tools and systems ensuring safe work practices are used and work areas are hazard free.- Contribute to continuous improvement activities.- Develop and maintain effective ongoing relationships with key customers.- Liaise with colleagues regarding repair status and requirements whenever directed and in a courteous and respectful manner- Workshop maintenance.- Liaise with the State Service Manager, and Customer representatives with respect to service repairs.- Liaise with Parts Manager ensuring service repair parts are available for the repairs or ordered in advance of task commencing- Report any additional repairs that may be required outside the initial quotation to the customer and escalate any concerns or problems with the repairs or customer complaints to the State Service Manager.
Position Skills and Qualifications
**Qualifications**:
- Trade qualification in mechanical, plant, hydraulic or electrical.- Background in Field service, workshop, supervisory or in a managerial role.- Understanding of inventory management, and meeting operational targets, goals and objectives.- Experience in the Mobile Elevated Work Platform Industry in Australia, Europe or UK desirable but not essential.- Experience in understanding Australian Standards or Industry Codes of Practice.
Licensing Requirements - desirable but not essential, we will provide these on successful placement:
- Current Australian driver’s license.- Yellow card.- High Risk above 11m.- Forklift license.
**Skills**:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, both internally and externally.- Good problem solving and oral/written communication skills.- Self-Motivated.- Ability to manage time and workload autonomously and within the overall team environment.
