**ROLE OVERVIEW**:
The Traffic Planner, reporting to the Project Manager, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of traffic during construction and maintenance activities for Main Roads projects. This role involves creating and implementing traffic management plans, conducting on-site inspections, and supporting operational efficiency.
**Responsibilities**:
- Create traffic management plans based on provided templates and relevant guidance schemes.
- Submit developed traffic management plans to Main Roads for approval, ensuring they meet regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to understand project requirements and incorporate them into traffic management plans.
- Conduct thorough on-site traffic management inspections to verify plan implementation and compliance.
- Develop new traffic guidance schemes as necessary to address specific project challenges.
- Assist site teams in understanding and executing traffic management plans effectively.
- Provide support to the operational business by addressing traffic-related concerns promptly.
- Ensure all activities align with safety protocols and minimise disruption to public traffic flow.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Minimum 2 years Basic Worksite Traffic Management.
- Minimum 2 years Advanced Worksite Traffic Management.
- Proven experience in traffic management planning for infrastructure or construction projects.
- Sound knowledge of relevant traffic management regulations, standards, and guidelines.
- Proficiency in using traffic management software and design tools.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders and convey technical information effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding safety standards.
- Relevant experience with Auto Cad, MS Office Suite.
