**About the Role**:
The Fire Operations Officer, Weed Management is responsible for the delivery of specified pre
- and post-burn weed management works on DEW managed land. The Officer will supervise and work closely with a small team to ensure weed control works are performed in a safe and effective manner. The Officer will support the region’s fire ecology team in post-burn weed management planning and will be relied upon to contribute up-to-date site knowledge to the review of post-burn weed management priorities.

**Special Conditions**:

- A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
- Will be required to participate in firefighting operations and must be physically fit and pass a fitness assessment to a minimum standard of a ‘moderate’ Fire Fighting Role Classification as per the DEW Fire Policy and Procedures.
- Will be required to participate in Biosecurity emergency response.
- Will be required to work outside of the normal hours of work including weekends, public holidays and days of significant fire danger, and participate on a roster system for duties associated with emergency response including on call and standby arrangements.
- Will be required to undertake intra or interstate travel.

**Remuneration**:
OPS3 $67,589 min - $72,033 max p.a.
