We are looking for a Fresh Specialist to join the Retail Operations Team. In this role you will provide specific assistance to Area Sales Managers, KAMS and retail Business Managers where necessary, including food critical compliance issues, niche ranging and ticketing knowledge. Fresh specialists act as a hub of Fresh expertise within each state and are constantly driving Fresh - Food excellence for retailers and consumers.
This role will be looking after the Tamworth/Mid North coast region and travel through to Port Macquarie & Coffs Harbor will be required.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate closely with AM / KAM/ RBM to implement Fresh Merch strategies and achieve operational standards (National & State)
- Educate and coach (e.g., training sessions) Retail Ops teams to ensure they have a good understanding of Fresh and know when to call for additional support when necessary
- Build relationship with retailers to establish trust and confidence as a Fresh SME
- Advise on Fresh new lines, ranging, ticketing, catalogue compliance and identify warehouse sales opportunities (e.g., seasonal, themed, promo lines)
- Use available shoppers’ and stores’ data (e.g., demographic trends) to advise on additional Fresh range opportunities
- Share Fresh industry benchmark, trends, and best practice
- Provide Fresh training (e.g., Fresh food handling and stock rotation techniques, hygiene standards, legislative requirements, store displays)
- Provide Fresh-specific business support (e.g., review store Fresh budgets, formulate Fresh business strategies, and advise on how to maximize Fresh sales)
- Represent retailers’ positions and feedback to SMM (via SOM) retailers’ needs and requests (e.g. high quality, price competitive, and meets the needs of the customer demographics of the store)
- Recommend Fresh product or service enhancements to improver retailer satisfaction and sales potential
What you’ll bring
- In-depth Fresh grocery market knowledge and understanding of the retail supermarket sector
- Experience in buying within a Fresh category and knowledge of growing and supply trends within the industry
- Strong understanding of Fresh food compliance and legislative requirements e.g. HACCP, Food Safety, Cold Chain and WHS Legislation
- Influencing skills and ability to rapidly establish trust and build relations with retailers (owners and managers)
- Demonstrate effective promotional and sales skills, with a strong track record of closing successful deals and meeting sales targets
