**About the role**
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Merchandise Manager to join our team in the Darwin Support Office and lead the merchandise team by overseeing the planning, buying, allocations and managing inventory across all channels. You will work closely with the Retail Operations team support the remote stores with their planning and inventory.

**This position is based in Darwin and will require relocation**

**Responsibilities**
- Lead, coach, and mentor the merchandise team
- Building and maintaining Monthly sales and Margin Plans for all product categories
- Work with the Retail Operations Team to maintain effective stock levels and promotional activity.
- Support & promote the ALPA nutritional strategy.
- Contribute to controlling and coordinating both in-store and group promotional activity and investment purchasing.

**Skills and Experience**
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a retail buying role.
- Experience in leading and managing a team.
- Strong understanding of financials.
- Experience in contract management and negotiation.
- Demonstrate experience in managing supplier relations.
- High-level skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- An unrestricted NT C class driver's license or ability to obtain.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.
