
Learning Services Teacher

This role is Ongoing, commencing Semester 2 on a 1.0 load.
**The successful applicant must have**:
- Substantial experience in the conduct of diagnostic assessment and a keen understanding of the role and function of diagnostic and standardised tests and assessment procedures.
- Sound data analysis and critical thinking skills.
- Elevated level of understanding and experience of effective teaching and learning of students with specific learning difficulties, disabilities and exceptionality.
- Advanced understanding and skills in the delivery of specialist programs, advice, consultancy, staff training and case management within a regular school setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to build rapport, provide guidance and assistance, interact effectively at all levels of the School, and develop effective, connected internal and external relationships.
- High degree of awareness and the ability to relate to students with further support needs in a friendly, nurturing and encouraging way.
- Elevated level of understanding of contemporary approaches to Additional Learning Needs within a mainstream setting.
- Strong understanding of current policy initiatives around disability awareness and intervention.
- Strong understanding of curriculum differentiation.
- Relevant and demonstrated experience in similar roles is well regarded.
- Previous experience in co-educational, independent Schools will be well regarded.
- Tertiary qualifications in teaching (primary and/or secondary).
- An accredited additional qualification in inclusive education or learning intervention is highly desirable.
- Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- Level II First Aid Certificate is well regarded.
- Anaphylaxis qualification
- National Police History Check (Obtained within the last 6 months)
