**The Location**
The hospital is located on an idyllic part of the Queensland coast. With over 300 days of sunshine each year there is an abundance of outdoor activities. Popular attractions include Riverbank Parklands, a riverfront parkland attraction, the coastal strip and large neighbouring islands, the vast majority of which is national park.

**The Hospital**
This is 260 bed major regional hospital. Having state of the art facilities the hospital has been undergoing a number of redevelopment projects at a cost of $324 million the last of which are due to be completed later this year. The projects have included the construction of a regional cancer centre, a new Emergency Department, Rehabilitation Unit, Maternity and Paediatrics Unit, Dialysis Unit, and a Learning and Development Centre, together with the consolidation of a number of outlying services into the main Hospital complex.

**The Position**
Your role will be to work as an Specialist within an emergency department that is the main referral hospital for the region. The local area has a population of approximately 250,000 and the department has approximately 47,000 attendances each year with an admission rate of 25%. They deal with the full spectrum of emergency care with trauma and resuscitation a core component of the work along with the management of routine emergency/urgent patient presentations.
