**About Our Client**:
We are proud to be partnering with the National Museum of Australia to deliver a vast variety of positions available for people who will love working closely and engaging with visitors, friends and guests of the Museum. There are several positions available in the front-facing public roles in the Public Engagement, Corporate Operations and Services Division in the areas of Visitor Experience, Commercial and learning teams. Australia's leading museum is a large culturally diverse and creative team, emphasising on high quality customer service. The museum preserves and interprets Australia's social history, exploring the key issues, people and events that have shaped the nation. It is home to the National Historical Collection and is one of the nation's newest major cultural institutions.
- Deliver engaging curriculum-aligned programs
- Liaise with teachers, students and members of the public
- Communicate program and event information across the museum
- Supervise exhibition and gallery spaces
- Develop and provide guided tours engaging with school groups on education and programs
- Host VIP tours throughout the museum
- Assist in administrative tasks associated with specific programs
- Guide/teach up to 5-6 programs per day
These roles may be rostered over a 28-day period. It includes regular weekends, public holidays and occasional early mornings and evenings. The position is not a seated one, and you will be rostered to areas with hard floors most of the time.
**The Successful Applicant**:
- Has experience in the education sector or similar
- A passion for Australian history and inspiring young people in the stories, objects and people from Deep Time through to today.
- Flexibility to shift between delivery in a classroom environment, in the galleries and in other Museum spaces.
- Maintains developed nuanced skills
- Has a passion to teach and guide through both standard and innovative methods with the ability to learn, effectively adjust and deliver engaging programs to students from K - 12.
- Has a passion for arts and cultural programs as well as teaching or guiding
- Occasionally supporting other areas of the Museum to deliver programs that engage young people and families in the evenings and on weekends.
- High energy personality with the ability to be creative and deliver both face-to-face and virtual excursion programs often working without close supervision.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
- Be bold and decisive, embrace challenges and opportunities
- Actively seek ways to continually improve services
