**Job Purpose**:
The Principal, Program Manager acts as a strategic, trusted and confidential partner to their client group by embedding Program Management strategy into day-to-day work and providing professional guidance and support to relevant internal client groups with the objective of adding value to the business.
This position will play a significant role in leading and managing Programs and will have excellent working relationships with stakeholders in the department of defence and the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). The Principal, Program Manager position requires an experienced leader with demonstrated program management expertise, in start-up and closing out of complex defence programs, as well as specific skills in the following areas;
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Ability to lead and successfully execute all aspects of a major government multi-year, development program (preferably ADF or CoA);
- Experience with Estimates at Complete (EAC’s) in excess of $300M;
- Complex program management experience in technically focused programs covering cradle to grave execution;
- Integrated teaming experience including direction of customer and stakeholder team members
- Demonstrated ability and experience in proposal development and negotiations;
- Demonstrated ability to support and lead contract negotiations;
- Oversee and lead engagement with Defence and Government clients through delivery to Program close out. Providing regular progress updates, identifying risk and opportunities in advance and addressing issues as they arise; leading to successful delivery on time, within budget and in line with the Customers expectations;
- Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external key stakeholders;
- Demonstrated understanding and previous experience overseeing cost and schedule requirements through all phases of the program from inception to completion;
**Experience & Education Requirements**:
- Minimum of 12+ year’s strategic Program Management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Program Management
- Experience working in a matrixed organization is an asset.
- Experience working in the Defence industry is a preference, though operating within a complex, international, matrix structure business will be considered alongside this
- Experience partnering with COE’s to drive initiatives and ensure both maximum impact and harmonization
- Previous experience working with CASG or ADF with the ability to present information and respond to questions or queries from external and internal client groups.
