About the role
Working in collaboration with Calvary Return to Work Coordinators, the National Work Health and Safety team, the National Claims Specialist plays a key role in supporting development, implementation and overseeing programs that support injured employees through their recovery and rehabilitation across the organisation.
The National Claims Specialist may also be required to engage with healthcare providers, insurance partners, and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective injury management strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and promoting a culture of safety and wellness within the organization.
**Some of your main duties will include**:
Provide strategic advice and guidance regarding workers compensation legal matters that takes into account workers compensation, industrial relations and premium impact
Continuously analysing workers compensation data in order to provide timely information to enable action and support for injured workers.
Work with the Business Analytics team to develop a national reporting that results in a dashboard performance report
Set and maintain accuracy in record keeping for all injury cases, interventions, and outcomes.
Lead and manage legal matters where necessary
Partner with WHS Teams to develop and deliver training and coaching in effective early intervention and injury management
Actively participate in policy and procedure development and review to ensure Calvary has a contemporary approach to injury management
Ensure injury management activities comply with relevant state and federal legislation, including workers' compensation laws and privacy acts.
About you
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Health Science).
Proven experience in injury management, occupational health, or a similar role, preferably within a corporate or industrial setting.
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety laws, workers' compensation legislation, and rehabilitation guidelines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in using injury management and HR software systems.
