One of our clients, a local council within the Lilydale area, is looking for a Parks Maintenance Team Member to join their passionate team.

This Job is a casual role, however, will be for 38 hours per week and could lead onto gaining a full-time contract.

Your shift will start at 7.00am and will end at 4.00pm.

Pay Rate: $33.65 Per Hour + Superannuation.

Starting: ASAP.

The purpose of this role is to work as a self-managed member of the Parks and Bushlands team using a range of horticultural, parkland and maintenance skills to maintain the Council’s open space assets.

**You will Need**:
Ability to identify and quantify resources required to meet objectives including small landscape construction projects.

Ability to manage personal time, prioritise works and implement weekly works programs and job sheets satisfactorily.

Ability to select appropriate equipment & techniques used in parks/garden maintenance, operate/maintain/adjust plant & equip correctly.

Ability to work in a team environment, cooperate and communicate with the public and provide on the job training.

Demonstrated knowledge of vegetation management and maintenance and basic landscape and asset construction and maintenance

Experience with herbicide use

Experience with small and medium horticultural equipment

Good verbal and written communication and willingness to effectively communicate with management, residents and the public.

Trade Certificate (Level 3) in Horticulture and/or relevant experience

**You will be**:
Working within the Broad acre mowing team maintaining grass in reserves and roadsides.

Operation of heavy mowing equipment - toro wide-area mower, tractor, and attachments (slasher/stealth mower). Pre-start checks and general maintenance of equipment.

Selecting and operating appropriate equipment and machinery for designated tasks, in the most productive manner according to agreed work practices.

**Please Note** - a Police Check, WWCC and Covid Vaccination status **will all need to be obtained upon placement.**
