- The Department of Justice and Community Safety is responsible for the supervision of children and young people in the criminal justice system and for providing strategic advice and delivering strategic outcomes to address youth crime and reduce offending.
- The Youth Justice Policy, Strategy and Priority Projects Business Unit supports this work through policy reform and development including providing evidence-based, youth-specific policy, strategic and responsive advice to government.
**The**opportunity**
- Ongoing position based in Melbourne.
- VPS 4 role: $97,955 - $111,142 per year plus super.
- Provide policy analysis and advice, including the identification of emerging issues, opportunities, risks and trends.
- Support whole of YJ coordination tasks, and contribute to government processes, including State Budget.
- Research, analyse and prepare clear written materials including reports, briefings, papers and presentations.
- Translate complex data and evidence into clear, concise insights that support sound policy advice and decision-making.
**To be successful in this role you will have experience in / knowledge of current policy direction, research and issues within youth justice or the broader criminal justice system.**
