**The Role**
Reporting to the Manager, Project Delivery, the Assurance and Risk Adviser supports the implementation of the assurance program across the Department. This includes developing assurance frameworks, risk management policies, and processes.
The role leads improvement initiatives within assurance and risk activities, collaborating with key corporate functions and groups. Additionally, it contributes to strengthening assurance capability across departmental portfolios and supports the oversight of whole-of-department assurance and risk planning systems.
**The Team**
The position of Assurance and Risk Adviser forms a part of the Strategy, Performance and Governance Branch within the Corporate Services Group.
The group works to build a safe, high-performing organisation where the department's people are supported to perform at their best. The group does this by providing strategic, operational and program delivery support services in creative and innovative ways.
The Branch's objective is to continuously uplift the efficiency and effectiveness of Corporate Services and the Department. The Branch does this by driving a program including strategic projects, departmental frameworks and key programs of operational activities aimed at enhancing the performance of the Department. The Branch enables high-quality reporting and business planning to facilitate effective oversight and informed decision making across the Department.
**About You**
This role requires strong operational expertise in a technical environment, with the ability to coordinate and maintain momentum across key initiatives.
