As the **Financial Control Team Leader**, you will act as the 2IC to the Senior Manager Group Finance and play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the NRMA Group’s financial statements, general ledgers, and reconciliations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in prioritising and coordinating the activities of the Financial Control team
- Manage timelines for internal and external reporting, including Board updates, management committees, audits and disclosures
- Interpret new accounting standards and regulatory requirements, assess their impact and recommend policy changes
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reporting, statutory accounts and external disclosures
- Oversee the month-end Group Timetable and monitor achievement of deadlines across the Group
- Manage the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process
- Provide ongoing financial accounting support and evidence-informed analysis to stakeholders
- Support projects with accounting treatment advice and remain up to date with changes in accounting standards
**What You’ll Bring**
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline
- Post-graduate professional accreditation (CA or CPA Australia)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a medium to large organisation
- Experience managing a small team
- Advanced stakeholder management and coordination skills
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian International Financial Reporting Standards
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
