The AWS Cyber Cloud Specialist Consultant will be responsible for providing expert cyber security services focused on AWS cloud environments for NCS Australia's clients. This role will deliver specialized security assessments, implement security solutions and configuration, and provide remediation services leveraging our vendor product and service partnerships. Attached to the AWS Centre of Excellence, this consultant will work with both existing clients and new customers transitioning to the AWS Cloud to ensure their cloud environments are secure, compliant, and resilient against cyber threats.

**Qualifications**

**Responsibilities**:

- AWS Security Assessment and Strategy: Conduct comprehensive security assessments of client AWS environments. Develop security strategies and roadmaps to address identified vulnerabilities and improve overall security posture. Provide strategic guidance on AWS security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Security Implementation and Remediation: Design and implement security solutions for AWS cloud environments using appropriate NCS partner technologies. Execute remediation activities to address security vulnerabilities and configuration issues. Implement security controls that align with industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ASD Essential 8, ISO 27001).
- Technical Consultation and Design: Provide expert technical consultation on AWS security architecture and design. Develop secure reference architectures for AWS deployments. Collaborate with AWS CoE team to ensure security is embedded in cloud transformation projects. Design secure cloud landing zones incorporating security guardrails and controls.
- Client Engagement and Advisory: Serve as the technical security SME in client engagements related to AWS cloud security. Advise clients on security risks, compliance requirements, and mitigation strategies. Present security findings, recommendations, and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrate expertise in explaining complex security concepts to business audiences.
- Knowledge Development and Sharing: Stay current with evolving AWS security services, features, and best practices. Maintain relevant AWS and security certifications. Document and share knowledge through internal communities of practice. Contribute to the development of security IP, methodologies, and accelerators for AWS security engagements.
- Balancing technical security requirements with business objectives in rapidly evolving cloud environments, requiring creative and pragmatic security solutions that protect client assets without impeding business agility.
- Managing complex multi-account AWS environments with varying security maturity levels, requiring the ability to prioritize security efforts and deliver incremental improvements aligned with client risk tolerance.
- Navigating the Australian regulatory landscape for different industry sectors (financial services, government, healthcare) with different compliance requirements for cloud security.
- Integrating multiple vendor security solutions with AWS native security services to create cohesive security architectures that address client-specific threats and compliance needs.
- Staying current with rapidly evolving AWS services and security features while maintaining expertise in partner security products, requiring continuous learning and adaptation.
