Marine Environmental Consultant Positions

As part of the continued growth of our services in the energy and resources sectors, ERM has an exciting opportunity for experienced mid-level Marine Environmental Consultants to join our team and assist in the delivery of our portfolio of projects to our key clients. About the opportunity:
- In this fast paced and dynamic role you will support a wide range of projects with a focus on environmental impact assessments in marine and coastal environments.- Support the delivery of large-scale capital development projects, including for oil and gas (with a growing portfolio of decommissioning-related work), renewables, mining and infrastructure sector clients.- Be a part of multidisciplinary project teams and network with ERM's global marine science and impact assessment technical communities to share resources and best practice approaches across the industry.

Role Responsibilities:
- Undertake assessments to evaluate and mitigate potential impacts on the marine environment from capital development projects- Utilise your knowledge of Commonwealth, State and Local Government environmental regulatory requirements- Develop strong relationships and communicate clearly with peers, colleagues, clients and sub-contractors within and outside the Australian-New Zealand Business Unit- Deliver high quality reporting to meet the needs of our clients and regulatory requirements- Assist in identifying, securing and managing new opportunities

If you have the following, we want to hear from you:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (marine science, environmental science, environmental management)- Relevant post graduate qualifications such as Honours, Masters or PhD would be an advantage- 2 - 4 years of experience in a similar role- Previous experience in environmental consultancy, environmental regulation or industry is an advantage- Strong interest in marine and coastal ecosystems, potential threats, and strategies for protection and conservation is essential- Demonstrated understanding of and experience with Australian environmental approvals processes- Technical competence in undertaking marine assessments to support environmental approvals- Critical thinker skills - i.e. able to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful outcomes- Excellent report writing, data collation and management/presentation skills- Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills and ideas- Demonstrable project management experience is an advantage- Authorisation to work in Australia
