The **Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH)** part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.

As part of the HOPE program team, the Youth Peer Support Worker provides peer-led recovery-focused support to young people post-crisis. Working across multiple sites, you will advocate, offer emotional support, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assist youth in their recovery journey.

**About the role**:

- Provide peer support to young people post-crisis
- Advocate for youth needs within a multidisciplinary team
- Collaborate on recovery-focused care and support plans
- Work across multiple sites within the catchment area
- Offer emotional support and guidance during recovery

**About you**

Essential
- A lived experience of accessing tertiary youth mental health services and ability to share experiences in a recovery focused way (in a variety of contexts). Experience in delivering peer work in mental health, ideally in a youth-specific setting
- Build effective partnerships with young people, families, and services like AOD, housing, and NDIS
- Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary team
- Comply with legal requirements and engage in continuous professional development, including education and supervision
- Work flexibly across multiple community sites, ensuring compliance with documentation and required checks

Desirable
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, IPS Core training, or relevant mental health training preferred
- Aged 18-30 years, with knowledge of community and human services organization
- Commitment to integrated clinical research and understanding of relevant legislation (Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, Children, Youth and Families Act)
- Knowledge of mental health service guidelines and strategies (e.g. Victorian Mental Health Reform Strategy)
