No matter our role - we are united by our ambition to be the most loved airline in Australia, and always go one step further for our customers, colleagues and our wider community. **Who we’re looking for**: The objective of the Practice Manager role is to lead team of Program Managers and Project Managers across the portfolio to deliver projects in line with the IT roadmap. **What you’ll be doing**: - Act as escalation point for program managers - Collaborate with program sponsor(s), cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and baseline scope, deliverables, and timing - Lead integrated planning across the program’s constituent streams Ensure required resources in place to deliver the desired program outcomes - Manage the relevant delivery teams (internal and external), including providing coaching to team members Develop and manage the program budget, forecast and monthly cost recognition - Ensure RAIDD (risk, assumption, issue, dependency, decision) registers are in place and actively maintained Ensure delivery compliance with the VA Delivery Framework - Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the Department Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle - Coach and develop program and project managers to lift the maturity of project and change management practices - Build and lead a team of high performers Identify and recommend improvements to the VA framework and template artefacts - Customise and continuously improve approach to suit specific program. **You’ll be great in this role if you have**: - Proven experience as project director or other managerial position - Proven experience managing large teams (>30 members) Financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting to support decisionmaking and effective financial management Proven track record of building strong relationships with a broad set of stakeholders, including executive management - Experience of working with and influencing various levels of management - Experience with managing expectations and presenting issues and resolutions on data and reporting - Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills - Team coaching and mentoring on good project management discipline - Strong and flexible stakeholder management skills and engagement style - Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behaviour and absolute discretion with confidential information - Critical thinking, analytical and forecasting skills - Strong problem-solving skills including ability to address any issue in collaboration with others, identify and prevent potential problems and develop problem solving skills in others - Demonstrated ability to extract, understand and use data, analyse management information and provide insight to enable fact-based decision-making - Can use POL Reporting and scheduling including ability to build reports - Understands financial budgeting, governance/controls - Outstanding working knowledge of project and change management principles and performance evaluation processes **Desirable skills**: - Master’s degree in business administration or related field - Airline industry experience is desirable 10+ years of Program/Project Management experience - Technology implementation / SDLC - Agile and waterfall delivery approaches - Project management tools - e.g. Jira, Confluence, DevSecOps, MS Project, Power BI **What you’ll get from us** We’re committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry - including (but not limited to): - Heavily discounted air travel for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year) - Flexible working arrangements (including work hours and work from home) - Discounts on travel insurance, car hire, accommodation and experiences worldwide - Discounted Virgin Australia Lounge membership - Hospitality, retail, technology, beauty services and wellness discounts - Wellness support, including the betterme digital wellbeing platform - A comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, which offers confidential coaching and support from qualified professionals for all aspects of life - physical, mental, social and financial - Dress for Your Day - enjoy the freedom to wear whatever is appropriate for the type of work you do and the day you have ahead of you **Equa
