**The Role**

The Workplace Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing and improving Evie’s OH&S systems and ensuring compliance with OH&S legislation and industry best practice. This is a team-based role working alongside our deployment project managers and their contracted design, build and installation suppliers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a safety-focused individual who can work collaboratively to develop initiatives and programs that provide continual improvement to safe and compliant operations, utilising your ability to engage, train and develop staff to understand the important role they play in safety.

**Reporting to the Head of Deployment, your duties will include**:

- Ensure the WHS Management System complies with standards and legislations.
- Assist CEO and General Managers in planning, developing and implementing WHS risk management framework/processes and Disaster Management Plan.
- Establish a WHS training regime for all Evie staff and suppliers
- Revise and update policies and procedures relating to WHS.
- Promote awareness of the Evie's WHS Management System throughout the organisation including promoting a safe working environment.
- Provide strategic and technical WHS expertise to the safety committees, employees, co-ordinators & managers across Evie.
- Identify activities or workplace conditions that may pose a risk to the health and safety of our ‘workers’ and our ‘suppliers’.
- Perform property and asset assessments to ensure WHS and other identified risks throughout the organisation are consulted and mitigated.
- Recommend operational and business requirements to support those strategic objectives for continuous improvement, meeting legislation and or code requirements and supporting best practice principles.
- Complete WHS risk assessments across the organisation
- Provide monthly reports to the Leadership Team on the performance of the WHS and Injury Management System

Electric cars in Australia is still largely uncharted territory which means your passion to make a difference, desire to use your initiative and continuous focus on excellence will ensure your success in this new role.

**What you need to be successful**:

- Formal qualifications in WHS management.
- Min of five-years operating experience as a WHS Officer/Manager in a construction/engineering/industrial company (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in the formulation, introduction, and operation of a WHS management system
- Proven communication skills with all stakeholders in an organisation.
