Head Barista

**Head Barista - Richmond Café**

We’re opening a brand-new café in Richmond and looking for an experienced **Head Barista** to lead our coffee program. This is a hands-on role for someone who is passionate about coffee, thrives in a busy environment, and enjoys building a strong team culture.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare consistently high-quality espresso and other coffee beverages to specialty standards.
- Manage and train junior baristas and café staff in coffee techniques, workflow, and customer service.
- Oversee daily coffee bar operations including opening/closing, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Calibrate grinders and machines daily to maintain flavour consistency.
- Monitor stock levels, order coffee beans, milk, and café supplies in coordination with management.
- Ensure equipment is well-maintained and coordinate servicing when required.
- Uphold excellent customer service standards and build rapport with regulars.
- Work closely with the owner/manager to help shape the coffee menu and improve service.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Proven experience as a Head Barista or Senior Barista in a fast-paced café.
- Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, grinder calibration, and latte art.
- Leadership skills - able to train, motivate, and support a small team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage workflow and maintain consistency under pressure.
- Organised, reliable, and takes pride in creating a great coffee experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $24.95 - $40.82 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
