The Department of Communities and Justice delivers legal, court and supervision services to the people of NSW by managing courts and justice services, implementing programs to reduce crime and re offending, managing custodial and community-based correctional services, protecting rights and community standards and advising on law reform and legal matters.

Corrective Services NSW employs trade Overseers, Senior Overseers and Managers in Corrective Services Industries (CSI) providing inmates in correctional centres with vocational training in service and commercial industries to improve their employment opportunities when they are released from custody. Employment is a proven factor in reducing the risk of re-offending.

**About the role**

As a Trade Overseer, you will be overseeing the daily operation of an industrial unit whilst providing professional trade training and guidance to inmates. Reporting to the Senior Overseer, you are required to adhere to work plans and budgets given to achieve optimal commercial outcomes under tight time constraints. This role also sees you involved in case managing inmates by putting them through work readiness program, in order that they may improve their work skills, enhance post-release employment prospects, and contribute productively to Service/Business Unit objectives.

**Essential Requirements**
- **Minimum Certificate III trade qualification in Logistics, Warehousing or Supply Chain Management**:

- **Current Forklift license**:

- Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice in accordance with specified CSNSW timeframe
- Proven post trade experience
- Current NSW Driver's License and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role
- Ability and willingness to work across/ in other Business Units as required
- It is an essential requirement of the role that successful applicants are fully vaccinated and able to provide acceptable proof of vaccination status
