We are seeking a new Deputy Head of Global, Global Growth to join the Global Leadership Team to oversee the Australia-based functions. The Global team are the international face of CSIRO with representation in the United States of America (San Francisco and Washington), Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Chile and across Australia, driving strategic partnerships across industries and governments, connecting the world with the best of Australia's science, research, and innovation. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering CSIRO’s global strategy to ensure the global partnerships portfolio has strong alignment to CSIRO’s challenge framework and Missions Program. As you will oversee CSIRO’s bi-lateral country development and play a key role to coordinate CSIRO’s engagement with the Australian government.

Reporting to the Executive Manager - Global Growth, you will lead a team of high-performing and supportive Senior Advisors to drive strategic engagements and grow impactful partnerships across CSIRO’s key science and research areas. These partnerships enable CSIRO to continue delivering on our purpose, which is to solve the greatest challenges through innovative science and technology.

**Your duties will include**:

- Ensure alignment of the onshore network with the Global Strategy and CSIRO corporate plan, including individual business and CSIRO Mission strategies to deliver national benefit.
- Oversee and support the design and creation of new engagement and partnership opportunities using design thinking principles.
- Oversee and support the development of a sustainable pipeline of opportunities for Global to ensure viability of CSIRO’s global footprint.
- Proactive awareness of current issues on major Australian national challenges, opportunities, and best-practice approaches to addressing them through interdisciplinary solutions that include science, technology, and humanities.
- Establish and maintain key strategic internal and external networks and communicate CSIRO’s vision and strategic direction of Global to stakeholders and act as a trusted and expert advisor.
- Communicate and make balanced decisions using professional judgement, evaluating ambiguous and incomplete information, factoring in risks and being sensitive to the context.
- Support the Head of Global Growth to build and coach a high performing team to provide pragmatic, clear advice, and recommendations to enable outcomes against the Organisations plan.
- Take responsibility and accountability of the performance and development of the Australian based team through learning and development opportunities and effective knowledge transfer across Global.

**Salary**:AU$146,207 - AU$161,767 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:

- Relevant degree in conjunction with demonstrated achievement in senior advisory and managerial roles.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing large-scale national and international partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to design, facilitate and execute future focussed strategic business development initiatives, as well as driving alignment across complex team structures, such as business development, operations, and research partnerships,
- Demonstrated ability to deliver and measure projects and programs that are impactful and aligned to the Organisations Strategic Plan in a culturally diverse environment.
- Demonstrated experience to build and maintain strong professional and collaborative working relationships across a wide range of disciplines at all levels of the organisation and externally.
- Demonstrated experience in proactively seeking and influencing multiple key stakeholders, within a complex and ambiguous environment, to achieve a successful outcome.
- Demonstrated experience in guiding a high performing team, through coaching and development opportunities, as well as creating a culture that fosters innovative problem solving, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience that can be applied to leading a team through significant change and goal realignment.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically to resolve issues that deliver quality outcomes.
